Version: community-v1 · Effective: September 28, 2026
pgpilot lets pilots add to a shared map: cables, obstacles and, later, sites and local airspace. These terms cover what you send us when you do that. They sit alongside our privacy policy, which covers your personal data. By submitting a contribution you agree to the version of these terms shown in the app at the time.
A contribution is anything you add to or change in the community map data, including:
When you contribute, you confirm that it is your own observation or knowledge, and that you are not copying it from a source whose terms forbid that.
You give eide.ai AS, the company behind pgpilot, a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and sublicensable licence to use, copy, modify, combine with other data, publish and relicense your contributions. That includes publishing them under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0 and passing them on to open projects such as OpenStreetMap and openAIP under their licences.
You keep whatever rights you have in your contribution. You can still use your own observations however you like. This licence just makes sure the shared map can keep using and sharing them.
pgpilot makes the community map database available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. The individual contents of the database are available under the Database Contents License (DbCL) 1.0.
Attribution: © pgpilot contributors.
Works produced from the data, such as maps, apps or printed charts, may be released under any licence, as long as the ODbL's attribution and share-alike rules for the database itself are followed.
A contribution may be shown with your display name, and every contribution is kept in the edit history so others can see who added or changed what and when.
If you delete your account, your name is removed from your contributions, but the contributions themselves stay in the map and its history. Other pilots rely on them, and they may already have been shared under the licences above.
Community data is added by pilots and is unverified. It may be wrong, out of date or missing. An obstacle that is not on the map may still be there.
Volunteer editors and pgpilot may edit, reject or retire any contribution, for example when it is wrong, duplicated or no longer there.
False, abusive or deliberately misleading contributions, and copying from sources that do not allow it, can lead to your contributions being removed and your ability to contribute or edit being taken away.
We may update these terms. A new version gets a new version name and effective date, and the app asks you to accept it before your next contribution. Contributions you made earlier stay under the version you submitted them under.
